Plaid AM welcomes National Office

Plaid Cymru AM Dr. Dai Lloyd has warmly welcomed the opening of the British Lung Foundations’s new Welsh National Office in Swansea.

Dr. Lloyd, who attended the opening ceremony at the new office today (Friday, October 21) stated:

“It is fantastic news that the Foundation has decided to set up its new Welsh National Office here in Swansea. It is not very often that we in Swansea get to become the home of a National body so this is very welcome indeed.

“The work of the Foundation really is an inspiration. It provides valuable information, support, campaigning and research on behalf of sufferers and their families who unfortunately have to cope with all sorts of lung diseases.

“This of course is very relevant because Wales has a huge burden of respiratory disease, amongst the highest levels in Europe. I do hope that the good work of the Foundation will help support families in dealing with their doctors, nurses, hospitals and clinics.

“I am also confident that the target of significantly increasing the number of local patient support groups throughout Wales will be of benefit to sufferers.”
